Description
Broadmoor Tower is an 18th-century folly tower, likely built in the 1760s, possibly at the same time as Leith Hill Tower. It is constructed from Bargate stone rubble with a stone slab. The tower features an octagonal lower stage and a two-stage circular tower that rises from it, with a projecting string course made of slabs at each stage and at the top of the parapet. Each stage has one triangular-headed window with slab sills and heads. On the south side, there is a stone slab with an eagle carving. The south side has a cambered-headed door, which is accessed by a flight of 11 steps. The interior shows remains of a rotted ground floor, with an internal stair that follows the curve of the wall up to the first floor. The tower stands approximately 30 feet high.
