Description

High Barn is a house that was originally a barn, dating from the 17th century. It was brought from Sussex by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1910 and converted into a residence. The building features a timber frame with thin scantling and render infilling, topped by a half-hipped plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and consists of five framed bays, with a stack located at the rear right. The windows are leaded casements, with three on the first floor and a dormer at the rear. There is a door in the center, set within a gabled porch. The barn is included in the listing for its historical significance as part of the Goddards complex.
