Description

This building is a barn, now used as a store, located to the east of Goddards in Abinger Common. It dates from the 16th or 17th century and was moved from Sussex by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1910. The structure is timber framed and sits on a brick and render plinth, featuring herringbone brick and some render infilling. It has Horsham slab roofs that are half-hipped to the west. The barn consists of five framed bays with arched bracing and a central through-way. Inside, there is a queen-strut staggered butt purlin roof, and the gable end facing the street is weatherboarded. This building is included for its group value only.
