Description

The Old Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Wotton, Broadmoor. It is timber framed and originally built under galleted Bargate rubble stone with brick dressings; the upper section is whitewashed brick showing the thin timber frame. The roof is tiled. The cottage is two storeys high with a truncated end stack to the left. It was originally a two-bay cottage, later extended to the right and the rear. There are two leaded casement windows on the first floor, and a through-eaves gabled dormer to the right. A small angle bay oriel window with a plain tiled roof and bracing is on the ground floor to the left, with a small window to the centre and a diamond-pane leaded window to the right. A door is located in the return front, near the stack, with a half-glazed porch recess. A single-storey porch extends to the rear of the building.
