Description

Logmore Farm is a house, likely dating from the 16th century or earlier, with significant alterations in the 18th century and 20th centuries. It was probably originally a three-bay open hall-house, which was later ceiled over, and a chimney inserted in the 17th century. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infill, while the south-west elevation is of brick with a sandstone plinth. The roof is tiled, hipped to the north-west and gabled to the south-east. The north-east elevation displays an exposed timber frame with curved braces. It contains four casement windows, most of which are 20th-century replacements but are of a traditional style. The south-west elevation is of red brick in Flemish bond, with a stringcourse and six irregularly placed casement windows on the first floor. The ground floor has three windows with cambered heads, now containing 20th-century windows and doors. A 20th-century lean-to addition is present on the north-west. Inside, exposed ceiling beams remain, and two rooms have open fireplaces with wooden bressumers. The building is listed as a substantially intact timber-framed, probably late medieval hall-house with one elevation re-fronted in brick in the 18th century.
