Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres south-east of Bocketts Farmhouse, likely dates from around 1800 and has been extended. It features a weather-boarded timber frame with brick gable walls and a red tile roof. The barn has a rectangular five-bay layout oriented on a north-south axis, with opposing wagon entrances in the centre. There are lean-to extensions on the east side and a full-height addition at the north end. The west front includes a tall, slightly projecting gabled porch with arch-bracing around the wagon doorway and double doors, which are damaged. The east side, or rear, showcases a prominent porch with tall double doors, flanked by lean-tos on each side. The central lean-to has a low doorway, while the northern lean-to features a small shuttered window to the left of the door. The roof has coped gables, and at the north end, there are short weather-boarded additions with hipped roofs. A lean-to shelter added to the south end is not considered of special interest. Inside, the barn has a sawn soft-wood frame with angle-braces and queen-strut roof trusses. This barn is a notable feature within a remarkably complete group of farm buildings on the site.
