Description
Gosterwood Manor Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century extensions. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the garden front, with red brick infilling on the ground floor and tile hanging above, decorated with bands of diamond-point and fishscale tiling. The farmyard side is clad in brick. The roof, originally covered with Horsham slabs, is now plain-tiled. The house has a T-shaped plan with a cross wing on the left and is two storeys high, with attics in the gables and stacks at each end.
On the yard elevation, there is an attic window to the left, with one window on both the first and ground floors below. The centre has one casement window on each floor, while the right side features two first-floor windows and one ground-floor window on a flush gable, along with a half-glazed door to the right. The right-hand return front has a pentice across the ground floor that encloses the stack, and a gabled porch to the left with a 20th-century studded and panelled door.
On the garden elevation, there is an attic window in the gable to the right, one window on the first floor, and three windows on the ground floor beneath the canted-out tile hanging, along with a glazed door. A brick pentice with a Horsham slab roof is located to the left of centre, featuring one window in the end and on the return front. Additionally, there is a single casement window under the eaves over the pentice, a projecting gable to the left end with one three-light first-floor window, and three windows on the ground floor.
