Description
Hartshurst Farm House is a house dating from the 16th century, with extensions made in the late 16th century and the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is exposed over a 20th-century brick underbuild, with 20th-century brick infilling above. The left side has 18th-century brick and sandstone cladding. The main house has a plain tiled roof, while a wing is covered with Horsham slabs. The building has a T-plan layout, with a wing on the left and a 20th-century extension on the right. It is two storeys tall, with a stack located to the right of the centre and another stack on the left-hand return front. The extension to the right has one leaded window on each floor. There is one through-eaves dormer window in the centre left and two leaded casement windows on the first floor to the left. The ground floor has two windows above a plinth and under a plat band, with a further plat band on the first floor. The gable features two first-floor windows, one ground-floor window, and a blocked panel. The door is located to the right of centre under a pentice hood, with an additional door on the left-hand return front. The left-hand return front includes a stack made of sandstone blocks and brick dressing.
