Cottages. C17, extended in C18, addition dated "1712 W.H.X.M.". Timber framed, clad in galleted, rough-dressed sandstone blocks with red brick dressings, brick extensions to right and plain tiled roof. L-shaped building with gable end wing to right, probably once the forge. Two storeys with wing projecting to right. Moulded brick edge to plinth, brick plat band over ground floor. Ridge stack to left of centre, further stacks to right, at junction with wing, on right hand wing and to rear. Four diamond-pane leaded casement windows to first floor, five windows under cambered heads below. Door to left of centre to lobby entry. One storey and attic in wing under two gabled,boarded dormers on left hand return wall. One door in flanking lights below in large arched panel - formerly a large double entrance - with end piers to gable above slitted,arched lunette to gable with Y shaped leading. A former 'Venetian' window below now blocked apart from 2 3-light C20 leaded casement window in centre.
