Description

The Buckland War Memorial is made of Cornish granite and features a rough-hewn granite wheel-head cross on a tapered shaft. The front of the shaft displays a relief of the Sword of Sacrifice. The memorial stands approximately 3.6 meters high.

It is mounted on a tapered square plinth, which has polished panels with leaded inscriptions. The inscription on the south face reads: "1914 – 1918 / IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF BUCKLAND / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR / (NAMES)." The north face contains another inscription that states: "1939 – 1945 / THESE GAVE THEIR LIVES / (NAMES)."
