Description

White Lodge is one of the original lodges of Deepdene, likely designed by W Atkinson in 1804 when he built the house for Thomas Hope. The building is a single storey with two windows facing north and four windows facing east. It is faced with rough plaster and features long and short quoins. The high parapet has pierced panels of red tiles in an Italian style, and the roof is slate. The round-headed windows retain their glazing bars. On the north side, there is a porch with a round-headed arch, rusticated columns, a pediment that contains a rose in the tympanum, and overhanging eaves above the pediment.
