Description
The Anglican Chapel at Dorking Cemetery is a cemetery chapel built in 1856 by Cubitt and Sons, designed by Henry Clutton. It is constructed in the Early English style, featuring flint with stone dressings and a tiled roof that includes bands of plain and fishscale tiles. The chapel has a rectangular plan, with a west end that features a projecting arched entrance adorned with corbel heads and a buttressed bellcote above, along with buttresses on the sides. The nave contains one tripartite arched window beneath a stone relieving arch and one lancet window. The east end showcases a triple lancet window also under a stone relieving arch. This chapel is one of two cemetery chapels and is part of a combined lodge that includes an entrance arch and a mortuary chapel, all designed in a cohesive style.
