Description

Rose Cottage is likely from the early to mid-19th century. It is a two-storey building with two attic dormers featuring sash windows and tile-hung gables. The building has a band separating the brickwork above from the flint and brickwork below. The ground floor has a sash window within a slightly segmental arch on the north-west side, and a three-sided bay with a slate roof on the south-east side, added at a later date. The front door includes a rectangular fanlight and a flat-topped hood supported by cast iron shafts. The roof is tiled with a half-hip on each side. A painted addition with double-hipped slate roofing extends to the south, incorporating flint and brickwork below and brickwork above. The eastern wall is level with the road and is bordered by garden walls on both sides. Rose Cottage is situated within a group context with Rest Harrow.
