Description
This is a circa 1620 cottage, built by the Reverend Bristow for his wife. It has a central chimney plan and is two storeys high with tile hanging. The roof is tiled, and a 17th-century chimneystack remains. There are two casement windows. A pair of central, weather-boarded porches are present, along with two lean-tos dating from circa 1750 containing service rooms. Notable features include elaborate stops to the spine beam and a straight ladder that leads up behind the chimney. An exposed ingle nook is visible at Eastlands.
