Description

Spring Cottage is a brick building dated 1760, featuring the initials W P and S.P. It stands two storeys tall and was originally designed as a two-room cottage with an inglenook fireplace at one end and an outshot that includes a sunken dairy and stairs. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, while the first floor displays bands of plain and curved tiles beneath a tiled roof.

To the left, there is a one-bay cottage added in the 19th century, constructed in a matching style and using similar materials. The cottage has three casement windows and simple doorcases. The partition between the main house and the outshot is timber-framed with square panels. Inside, the open hearth features spit racks and a ventilated cupboard with butterfly hinges above the hearth, along with two salt shelves built into the hearth.
