Description

Pagewood Cottage is a 17th-century, three-bay house located on the north side of Rectory Lane. It features a small end bay and a catslide outshot with a chimney rising through it. The cottage is two storeys high, with the ground floor constructed of timber framing in square panels, infilled with painted brick. The first floor is tile hung, using plain, curved, and pointed tiles. The roof is half-hipped and tiled. There are three casement windows and a gabled weather porch. The end bay likely served as a smoke bay originally. Inside, the ingle nook hearth includes open salt niches and a cupboard with butterfly hinges, as well as a bacon loft. The outshot retains an original diamond mullioned window.
