Description
Danehurst is a house located on Logmore Lane in Westcott, dating from the late 16th century or earlier. It features a lobby entrance and was refronted in the early 19th century. The building is timber framed, with the frame exposed on the rear elevation, showing a midrail and diagonal braces. The front is finished in brown brick laid in Flemish bond, with some tile-hanging on the left side. The roof is half-hipped and covered with old tiles, topped by a central brick chimneystack. The house has two storeys and three windows, with early 19th-century openings that are cambered on the ground floor, although the windows are from the 20th century. There is a plinth and a weatherboarded lean-to on the left. The central entrance features a plank door with a penticed weather hood supported by brackets. Inside, there is an exposed spine beam, but the rest of the interior has not been seen.
