Description
Florents Farm is a farmhouse that was later converted into a house. The front wing dates from the early 17th century and consists of three bays, while the rear wing was added in the 18th century, along with a small extension from the 20th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble with galleting and features red brick dressings, topped with a tiled roof and a stone chimneystack. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high, with three windows on each wing. The front wing has stone mullioned windows and a red brick doorcase with a four-centred arch. The 18th-century L-wing is also two storeys and has three windows.
Inside, notable features include two early 17th-century back-to-back open fireplaces, a spine beam with a lambs tongue stop in the front room, a square framed internal partition, jowled upright posts, an 18th-century curved open fireplace, and plank doors from the 17th and 18th centuries. This building was once part of the Rookery estate.
