South Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a front extension added in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is exposed on the gable end to the right, with white-washed render infill, while the front and extensions are clad in brick. The roof is plain tiled and steps down and forward over the extensions, with an offset end stack to the right.
The house has two storeys on the right side and one storey with an attic on the left, which is adorned with three hipped roof casement dormers, the largest of which is in the center. On the first floor to the right, there is a 20th-century casement window, and below it, a cambered head casement window. To the left on the ground floor, there are two cambered head casement windows. The center of the house features a recessed porch with a part-glazed panelled door. Inside, the ceiling frames are visible.
