Description

Holmhurst Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th or early 17th century, with extensions added in the 20th century. The right-hand portion of the house has a timber frame exposed, with brown brick infilling in red and brown colours, partially colourwashed; the left-hand portion is brick. The roof is tiled, with half-hipped sections and gablets. The building is two storeys high and features exposed tension braces on the first floor to the right. A large multiple ridge stack is located to the left of centre, with a further end stack set back to the right. The windows are leaded casement windows, with one on the first floor to the left, a through-eaves hipped roof dormer to the right, and a 3-light first-floor casement window on the right. There are five ground floor windows. A door is situated at the right-hand end of the return front, which has tile hanging on the first floor.
