Description

Timbers is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, located on Back Lane in East Clandon. The building features a timber frame that is underbuilt in whitewashed brick, with an exposed square panel frame above and whitewashed brick infill. It has a plain tiled roof with end stacks, which are corbelled to the right. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of three framed bays, with diagonal tension braces visible on the first floor to the left. The windows are leaded casements, with three on the first floor and two on the ground floor. There is a half-glazed door in the center of the front. Additionally, there are pentice extensions at the right end and a 20th-century pentice extension across the rear.
