Description

Old Harry's Cottage is a house, dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century extensions. Originally part of Nos. 11 and 12, it is now divided. The house is timber framed and partly underbuilt in red brick, with red brick infilling within a square panel frame above. The left side is colourwashed. Brick extensions are present, with the right side featuring tile hanging on the first floor and brick extensions to the front and left. The roof is tiled. The house has two storeys and a central stack. Diagonal bracing is exposed on the centre of the first floor. Windows are diamond-pane, leaded casements: three are located centrally on the first floor, and three plain casements are on the ground floor. A gabled bay projects to the right, incorporating one first-floor window and two ground-floor windows. A door is situated on the left-hand return front (Nos. 11), while a further door is located on the right-hand return front in a single-storey brick porch with a heavy gable, which identifies as Old Harry's Cottage.
