Description

The Tupper Vault is a chest tomb located 1 yard west of the west end of the old Church of St Peter and St Paul in Albury Park. It is inscribed "Tupper Vault" and also commemorates the Devis family. The tomb consists of a stone chest set on a plinth with a gabled lid and features corner acroteria. It honors Anthony Devis, a watercolourist who lived from 1729 to 1816, and his half-brother, Arthur Devis, who was a notable 18th-century portrait painter. The vault is listed for its historical interest.
