Description
The entrance wall and gates to Albury Park date from the 19th century and enclose the forecourt of Albury Park House. They are constructed from galleted ironstone with brick dressings and feature tile-coped walls. The walls are approximately 7 feet high and rise in three steps to about 12 feet at the arched entrance gate. The gates have a brick-dressed, depressed arch with stone shields above. The walls extend for around 100 feet, connecting to the main house through a single-storey service range on the right and a pair of 17th-century wrought iron gates on the left. These gates are believed to be Flemish and were taken from a Hungarian convent, showcasing fine scroll work between iron standards under an arched overthrow.
