Description
Rookery Nook is a building that likely originated as a Wealden house, now functioning as a shop. It dates from the 16th century, with some remodeling in the 19th century. The structure is timber framed and covered in whitewashed roughcast, topped with plain tiled roofs. It has two storeys, with the first floor jettied and a projecting shop front on the right side. There is a 19th-century ridge stack located to the front left of the center and another stack to the right of the center. To the right of the shop, there is a gabled crosswing. The first floor features three casement windows and an angle bay window on the first floor of the crosswing. On the ground floor, there are two angle bays on the left and a projecting square shop front on the right, which includes two five-light windows flanking double glazed doors. A half-glazed door is positioned at the right of the center. The building has wings that extend at right angles to the rear.
