Description
Nos 43 and 45 on The Mount are a pair of cottages built around 1840. They are constructed from red and brown brick, featuring blue headers in a chequer-work pattern on the right-hand return front, and have low-pitched hipped slate roofs. The cottages are two storeys tall with rebuilt end stacks. The front has four windows, with two on each cottage; the outer windows on the first floor are 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows set beneath rendered lintels, while the inner two windows have been blocked. On the ground floor, there are outer glazing-bar sash windows, and to the left, there is a plinth below where the ground drops away. The doors, located to the left and right of centre, are six-panel designs with the top two panels glazed.
