Description

Vine Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, located on The Street in Effingham. It is constructed of red and brown brick, with a hipped, plain-tiled roof and end stacks. The house has a U-shaped plan, with wings extending to the rear. The front facade is regular, arranged with three bays, and features 16-pane sash windows with gauged brick heads. There are three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. A central half-glazed panelled door is set within a shallow break and ribbed surround, sheltered by a hipped hood on braces. A dentil brick plat band runs along the eaves.
