Description
The Lodge is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red and brown brick, featuring a grey brick band course above the ground floor and brick dentil eaves beneath a plain tiled roof. The building stands two storeys tall, with an end stack to the right and a ridge stack to the left of the center. Originally symmetrical, a bay was added to the left side in the 20th century.
On the first floor, there are three original 16-pane glazing bar sash windows, along with one 20th-century copy to the left. The ground floor has one 16-pane glazing bar sash window on the right, a shallow angle bay window from the 20th century on the left, and a tripartite sash window with a cambered head to the left. The entrance features a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set in a panelled surround that was originally centered. This is framed by fluted Doric pilasters and an entablature with a flat hood, decorated with triglyphs and diamond patterns in the metopes. The rear of the house has 20th-century wings, and the interior includes framed partition walls.
