Description

Hill Farm House is a house dating from the early 16th century, which was refaced in the 18th century and extended to the rear. The house is timber framed, with the frame exposed at the rear and on the right-hand return front, the rest of the facade featuring rendered infill and brown brick. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with a hip to the left end and a gablet to the right end. The layout is a "half-H" shape to the front, with a wing extending to the rear right.

The house has two storeys, with an end stack to the left and a multiple front ridge stack to the left of the centre. It features a plinth at the base, a plat band over the ground floor, and a stone-coped parapet partially hiding the roof. Two bay end wings project on either side of the central four-bay recessed range. The windows are wooden casements with leaded glazing, set under gauged brick heads, with eight windows on the first floor and seven on the ground floor. The front door is of six fielded panels, situated to the left of the centre, topped by a cornice and flat hood supported on brackets.

The rear features a half-hipped wing to the left with a pentice extension to the end. A gabled stair-vice sits to the right of the centre of the rear elevation.
