Description
The British Legion Club, located at 21 West Street in Epsom, is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features a colourwashed roughcast exterior. The front has a symmetrical arrangement of windows with two on each side and one in the center, which is set in a segmental-headed recess. A central porch has plain columns and a frieze decorated with heraldic crests, specifically griffins' heads pierced with arrows. Inside the porch, there is an oval domed ceiling and glazed double doors. The building has plain eaves and a bellcast slate roof, along with three round-topped dormers. The entrance hall is paved with marble. There are later extensions on both the left and right sides of the building. Nos 17 to 21 (odd) form a group.
