Description
The gate piers and railings to Cedar House date from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of red brick, featuring square piers and dado walls, with iron railings. The entire structure is approximately 50 feet long, with the piers standing about 12 feet high at the center and ends, topped with stone coping and pineapple finials. A wrought iron gate in the center has a scroll top that includes a gilt monogram and spheres. The railings are about 4 feet high and are positioned on the dado walls on either side. Notably, the gate and piers were transported from Sheridan's house in Eltham, Kent.
