Description
La Capanna is a restaurant located at No. 48 High Street in Cobham. It dates back to the 17th century but has been significantly altered and extended in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and has a plain tiled roof that is half hipped towards the street, with a ridge stack positioned to the left of center.
The structure is two stories tall, with its main front oriented at right angles to the street. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century square bay that spans the width of the building, while the first floor has two leaded casement windows. The entrance doors are located to the right, set beneath a catslide extension that is covered with diagonal planking. The left-hand return front has a gable with a visible queen post frame. Additionally, there is an extensive 20th-century brick extension at the rear of the building.
