Description
The North and South Lodges and gates to Claremont House were built in 1770 by Henry Holland. They are constructed of yellow brick on a stone plinth, with stone dressings and slate roofs. The lodges feature end stacks to the left and right. The design is two storeys high, with a string course above the ground floor and brick moulding to the pediments. The central bay has an arched opening topped with a triangular pediment. The side bays are set beneath half pediments. Three casement windows are arranged across the first floor, set in deep reveals with dividing brick pilaster piers. Doors to the rear are located within 20th-century flat-roofed extensions.
