Description

Elm Lodge is a house dating to the 17th century, with 19th-century extensions to the rear. It is constructed of red brick on a rendered plinth, with whitewashed brick return fronts, and has a hipped plain tiled roof. Rear stacks are located at each end. The house is two storeys high. The front features four 20th-century glazing bar sash windows under gauged brick heads on the first floor, and angle bay windows with glazing bar sash windows to the outer ground floor bays. A central door is set within a single-storey porch with a plat band to the top and a gauged brick arch to the front. Round-arch lancet openings are present on the sides of the porch. A timber-framed parallel range extends to the rear left, and a hipped wing is situated at right angles to the rear right.
