Description

Portmore House and Portmore Cottage are two buildings located at 54 and 56 Church Street in Weybridge, dating from the early 18th century. The house features brown brick with red brick dressings and has a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the left, partially hidden by a stone-coped parapet. There are ridge stacks positioned at the right end, left of center, and at the left end of the building.

The structure is two storeys tall with an attic, which includes four flat-roofed casement dormers. A plain band runs along the base of the parapet. The left end of the house is set back by one bay. The central and right sections of the building have three tripartite glazing bar sash windows, which were added in the 20th century, while the left side features a single glazing bar sash window. There are five old window openings on the first floor that have been blocked but are still visible.

To the right, there is an eight-panel door framed by a moulded pilaster strip surround, topped with a thin flat hood supported by brackets. To the left, a half-glazed door is sheltered by a slate pentice roof hood on brackets. Additionally, there is a square single-storey extension from the ground floor on the left side, which is also a 20th-century addition.
