Description
The Old House is a mid-18th century house that has been restored and extended in the 20th century. It is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and features a stone-edged parapet that partially conceals a 20th-century pan-tiled roof. The house has end stacks and a stack at the rear right. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a central bay projecting. There is a plat band over the ground floor and an eaves cornice over the first floor, both on a brick plat band. The windows are 20th-century glazing bar sash windows under gauged brick heads, with plate glass sash windows on the ground floor. The central ground floor has double three-panel doors set in a Doric pilaster surround, complete with stone capitals and a cornice above. To the right, there is a rendered bay set back behind a red brick wall, and a single-storey bay is located at the left end. There are also 20th-century extensions at right angles to the rear right.
