Description
This is a two-storey house, originally one dwelling, now divided into two separate properties. It dates from the early 18th century with later additions to the rear on the right side in the early 19th century. The house is constructed of brown brick with red brick detailing and a stone-coped parapet which partially hides the plain tiled hipped roof. A chimney stack is located at the right end. The front facade has six bays with prominent end and central piers. A brick cornice runs above the first-floor level. The windows are glazing bar sash windows set within gauged brickwork surrounds, with six windows across the first floor. A six-panelled door is positioned in a projecting bay to the left, with a dado panelled surround. Fluted piers support a shallow gabled hood on brackets above the door. A second door, half-glazed and sheltered by a flat-roofed porch supported on brackets, is located one bay in from the right end (No 11a). The right-hand return front is faced with incised render and contains glazing bar sash windows with horizontal bars on the first floor. A pentice-roofed glazed portico is at one end, providing access to the rear.
