Description

The Shakespear tomb is a chest tomb dedicated to Matthew Shakespear, who died in 1774. It is located 10 yards east of the Church of St. Mary in Walton on Thames. The tomb is made of stone and sits on a brick plinth. It features panelled, inscribed sides and has a stone top with a moulded edge. Fluted piers are present at the corners.
