Description

This is a group of houses, originally dating to around 1730, but with a new front applied to an earlier building. The construction is of coursed and squared rubble stone with ashlar quoins, dressings, and projecting stone keystones. The roof is gabled and covered in machine tiles, with two moulded stone stacks, one with a brick cap. The buildings are of two storeys. Number 12 has a two-window front, with large-pane sash windows in each opening. A six-panel door and rectangular fanlight are to the left, and there is a further doorway, with a sash window alongside, providing access to Number 12A. Number 14 has a 19th-century large-pane tripartite sash window on the first floor, and a 20th-century projecting shop front with a central door and flanking bowed windows. The neo-Georgian railings outside the basement entry to Number 12 date from the 1950s and feature acorn finials.
