Description

Rosemary House is a house dating from approximately 1830 to 1840, with 20th-century refurbishment. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with a stone slate roof and brick chimneys. The two-storey building has a three-bay front. A projecting plinth is visible below the flat wooden eaves, which are supported by paired brackets. The ground floor features paired three-pane sashes in the outer bays, with those on the right dating to the 20th century. The first floor has three boxed four-pane sashes. All sashes have 20th-century concrete lintels. The original six-panelled front door is retained, along with a semi-circular radiating fanlight and a painted stone hood in the form of an open pediment supported by shaped scroll brackets. Inside, a reeded wooden fireplace surround is located in the right bay. The building is included on the list for its group value.
