Description
Bell Cottage is a cottage that dates from the late 16th century to the 17th century, although it was largely rebuilt in the 1980s, which included an extension. The building is constructed of coursed rubble limestone and features a thatched roof with a rebuilt brick chimney on the left side. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of two bays. The lower windows are boarded up and have wooden lintels, brick jambs, and lowered sills. The upper storey has small 20th-century two-light wooden casements located at the eaves level. There is a central boarded door with a wooden lintel. The 20th-century rear extension is designed in a matching style, creating an L-shaped plan. The roof structure is said to retain raised cruck trusses. The cottage is also known as The Cottage.
