Description
1 and 2 Broad Street are two houses built around 1800, with some refurbishment in the 20th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and feature a 20th-century tiled roof, with brick chimneys located to the left and between the right bays, and the left chimney was rebuilt in the 20th century. The houses are two storeys high and consist of three bays.
The windows are mostly sash style, primarily with four panes, although there is a five-pane window on the ground floor left. Most windows have rendered jambs, while the windows in the left bay have wooden lintels, with the lower lintel displaying a slight stopped chamfer. The windows on the right side have rendered lintels.
Between the left bays is a nine-panelled door with glazed top panels, a wooden lintel, and a gabled wooden hood supported by shaped brackets. To the right is an early 19th-century flush-panelled door, which features a radiating semi-circular fanlight, rendered jambs, and a similar hood.
