Description
Thatched Cottage is a mid to late 18th century cottage with a 19th century wing at the rear, which was formerly an outbuilding. It is constructed of limestone rubble with slobbered pointing and part rendering, topped with a thatched roof featuring flanking brick chimneys, one of which has been rebuilt. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has two bays. It features small two-light wooden casement windows with 20th century plate glazing, and the lower left window has a wooden lintel. The upper windows are eaves-line dormers, with the left one having a thatch eyebrow. There is a small single light window in the center of the ground floor. The cottage has two board doors with painted render lintels, and the left door is accompanied by a 20th century wooden trellis porch with a gabled roof. A globe fire insurance plaque is also present. Inside, the left bay contains a blocked fireplace with old cupboards and an axial winder stair, while the right bay features a rough spine beam and an altered fireplace, along with old purlins.
