Description
Haytor is a house dating to around 1830, located on the west side of Lavender Square in Bampton. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with an ashlar front, and has a slate roof with coped gables and ashlar chimneys. It has a general L-shape. The front of the house has two storeys and three bays. It features three-pane sash windows with flat stone arches, although the windows in the right-hand bay have later wedge lintels. A central flush-panelled door is sheltered by a stone porch with an open pediment supported by unfluted Tuscan columns, and also features a flat arch. The left side of the rear wing includes a three-light wooden casement window on the ground floor and a five-pane sash window above.
