Description

Swift Cottage is a house dating from the mid 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with roughcast at the rear, and features a gabled thatch roof. The right end stack is made of stone and finished in brick, while the left end stack has two ashlar flues. The building has a two-unit outshut plan and is one storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The central door is a 19th-century plank door with timber lintels, flanked by 3:6 pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are three-light casement windows from the 19th century. The outshut to the right has a timber lintel above a 19th-century two-light casement. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
