Description
Price's Almshouse is a group of almshouses dated 1912, constructed from coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. The building features a symmetrical E-plan front in the Cotswold style, characterized by mullion windows with drips and gables that have kneelers and finials. It has four pairs of diagonal shafted chimneys adorned with diamond panels in friezes. The structure is single storey with five bays and three gables; the outer gables are wider and contain 4-light transomed windows. The central gable includes a frontal porch, while the end gables have porches set back at the sides. Each doorway features a moulded Tudor arch and is equipped with Voyseyesque strap hinges on plank-and-muntin doors. Inscribed on the soffit of the central doorway arch is "Prices Almshouses 1912."
