Description

This lime kiln, built around 1853, is made of dressed snecked rock-faced ironstone with rock-faced quoins. It has a square plan with battered sides and features a central segmental stone arch with a tapered brick intrados. The kiln is part of a former site for ironstone mining and brickworks located on the north-west side of the Oxford and Worcester railway line, which was opened in 1853 by engineer I.K. Brunel.
