Description

Nos. 10 to 14 on High Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 15th century to early 16th century, with later alterations including the rebuilding of the right range in the early 19th century. The building features a rendered exterior over limestone rubble, a gabled roof made of stone slate and artificial slate, and concrete tiles at the rear. There is a brick lateral stack. The structure is L-shaped, with a right-angle cross wing to the left of the parallel range. It has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range.

The gabled front on the left has a two-window range with a late 19th-century two-pane sash window and early 19th-century six-pane sashes above a 20th-century shop front. The parallel range to the right features an early 19th-century front with six-pane sashes above another 20th-century shop front. Inside, the left range has two arch-braced collar trusses with through-purlins leading to a former first-floor chamber, while the right range has a three-bay roof with arched windbraces.

No. 14 to the left has similar materials and is one storey with an attic and a one-window range. It features a late 19th-century shop front with a moulded cornice and a 20th-century door and windows. There is a 17th-century rear wing constructed of similar materials, with a beam visible in the interior.
