Description
Nos. 16 and 16A on High Street are a house that has been converted into two shops, dating from the mid-18th century, although they feature a refronting of an older house. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and squared stones, topped with a gabled stone slate roof and a brick stack on the left end. It has a three-unit plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a five-window range. The shop front is from the 20th century, while the first floor features mid to late 19th-century two-pane sash windows with timber lintels above. There are hipped roof dormers present. At the rear, there is a 17th-century gabled wing made from similar materials. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
