Description
Number 1 and 2 Garden Cottages and the attached outbuilding are two cottages with a cartshed, dating from the 18th century and remodeled in the mid to late 19th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and feature a gabled stone slate roof, along with 18th-century moulded stone ashlar ridge and end stacks. The building is one storey high and has a seven-window range. There are two 20th-century doors, one with a timber lintel and the other with a concrete lintel. The 20th-century two-light casements are set in 19th-century chamfered stone architraves. The left range has a similar window and a shuttered window, both set in chamfered architraves, and there is a six-bay cartshed with stone piers at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
